Unusual schedule: Day and evening shifts, one weekend out of two

Description :

We are looking for a special education teacher in the Gaspé Peninsula.

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting individuals facing unique challenges and ensuring their holistic development.

Your mission will be to promote inclusion, improve social skills, and support the independence of the people you support. You will work with various community and professional partners to create environments conducive to learning.

Main tasks:

• Develop and implement health promotion strategies and programs.
• Design and facilitate workshops with community members on health-related topics.
• Provide support to people who need help with a health-related situation such as pregnancy, birth, infant care, or disability.
• Design information and education materials on healthy lifestyles for beneficiaries.
• Inform the public about health and social services offered in their locality.
• Work in concert with various organizations, government agencies, social and community groups.
• Use presentation software and word processors.

Requirements:

• College diploma or bachelor's degree in special education, social work or related field (TES or TID or BAC Psychoeducation)
•  Significant experience in a rehabilitation unit (CRJDA) as an educator
• Experience in CRJDA with female clients aged 12-17
• Having knowledge and training on topics such as complex trauma and attachment.
• Valid driver's license without restrictions required.
• Valid CPR
• Suicide risk detection or assessment grid (asset)
• Mandatory Law 90 training
• Previous experience in working with vulnerable groups
• Ability to work independently and solve complex problems
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
